I've been doing my nails at home with dip powder for years. In addition to doing my nails at least a couple times I month, I also do family and friends nails monthly so even though I don't do it professionally in a salon, I'm in no way a novice. I use dip on natural nails and gel-x extensions. I was searching for a "cleaner" company to switch to and came across Revel because not only are they cleaner but they are affordable. I ordered a starter kit, plus several colors over the years from their website and from Amazon. I've purchased a total of six liquid sets between the two websites, the EZ application a couple of times to get used to the set and the professional series the other times. The product itself works well. It doesn't get goopy with the powder like other cheap brands I've used. As long as you know tips and tricks and apply properly using thin layers, taking care to clean the edges around your cuticles, you'll get a perfect, long lasting manicure each time. However, the issue I have is with the bottles themselves. So because of this I'm giving the liquids 1 star and will have to search for a different brand to use. Every liquid set I've purchased I've had to throw away the bottles before I'm even half way done with them. This last set only lasted two uses. I'm very careful to clean the brushes between dips and uses. I use pure acetone to clean the brushes after use and use acetone to clean the tops of the bottles off each time to ensure they don't get glued on. However, the "cap" where the brush is attached, comes completely off, rendering the brush useless. This happened the first time I even used the last set. I tried gluing it back on with super glue but it didn't last. As soon as I tried opening it again, it twisted right off. I've also opened bottles with barely any resistance and have had numerous bottles shatter (I didn't think to take any pictures of the broken bottles unfortunately because they went straight into the trash). I'm very particular and keep my space clean, my bottles clean and my hands clean. It's frustrating to purchase bottles and only be able to get a few uses out of them. I don't know if it's quality control or a different issue. Maybe it's a combination of the glue being too strong and the cheapness of the brushes? But EVERY liquid set I've purchased from Revel has either had issues with the caps and brushes or the bottles have broken, so unfortunately I won't be repurchasing until they fix this issue. I'm a huge proponent of glass but maybe they should consider using plastic bottles so this doesn't keep happening.

I exclusively use revels liquids for dipping! I’ve tried others but the smell is so strong and they just don’t work well. I love these and to prolong the life of step 1 and 2 I use an oil around the threads of the bottle after use and cleaning to keep them from getting stuck.
